An Evening of Comedy With Dramatic Licence
Who would believe the village fete organised by Gordon Gosforth could descend into such chaos? Everything from an unexpected storm and a bad-tempered tea urn conspire against him – not to mention a real scandal involving Millie, the tea lady. This is the farcical one act Play, Gosforth’s Fete by Alan Ayckbourn, one of three to be performed at by our talented local theatre in their next production En Evening With Dramatic Licence. Albert Stokes, playing Gosforth is at his comic best.
The second play, A Chip in the Sugar, is one of the Talking Heads series by Alan Bennett – a funny but thought-provoking monologue performed by Tony Holden.
The third play, Last Tango in Little Grimley by David Tristram is a hilarious comedy which we hope will give our audiences a glimpse of the problems all amateur theatre companies have, simply trying to put on a play. But sex sells. To find out how, you’ll have to come along to The Cardenal Belluga Theatre, San Fulgencio. Performances are at 8.00pm from Thursday 17th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th May.

Beginners' Art Classes
A new class in drawing and painting for complete beginners will begin at Lo Marabu Restaurant on Thursday 3rd May.
Lo marabu is on 'The Lemon Tree Road' between the 332 and CV905, near La Laguna Hotel, Quesada.
The first few weeks will concentrate on learning to draw - and all materieals for this are supplied. Drawing is an essential building block to learning to paint, and it's not as hard as you might think, once you know how to observe what you're trying to draw. Students can then move on to their chosen medium which might be watercolour, acrylics, oil or pastel.

An Evening With Dramatic Licence
The next production by this talented local theatre company will be on 16th, 17th and 18th May at 8pm at the Teatro Cardenal Belluga, San Fulgencio – and this time they have a programme of three plays.
So if you like Alan Ayckbourn and Alan Bennett – you’ll love the farce that is Gosforth’s Fete and the thoughtful A Chip in The Sugar from Bennett’s Talking Heads series.The third play is Last Tango In Little Grimley by David Tristram and a hilarious take on how difficult it is to run an amateur theatre group. Former productions by Dramatic Licence include the recent Farndale Christmas Carol, the comedies While The Cats Away, The Odd Couple, Murdered to Death (pictured) Seasons' Greetings and many more. So far, the company has been able to donate more that 30,000 euros to local Alzheimers Societies in the six years since starting up with the unforgettable play Don’t Dress For Dinner in 2005.
